Chimney Inspection Camera
A chimney inspection camera allows us to send an HD camera up a masonry chimney with full 360/tilt control to inspect areas inside of the chimney that would not be accessible otherwise. These areas are critical and often the most neglected due to access. A chimney inspection camera will find defects that have been overlooked for years by documented "visual" and "level 1" inspections. A traditional chimney inspection with a flashlight and mirror is obsolete for a masonry fireplace or masonry chimney of any kind.
Prefab fireplaces require a smaller more compact camera system due to the fireplace and vent design. The intention is to check the flue pipe for obstructions, buckling, and disconnections.
Images captured with date/time stamp, camera depth, and company watermark for validity..
Areas that are readily accessible get HD pictures with smartphones for routine documentation. To be included with the inspection report and inspection pictures.

Fireplace Inspection
Fireplace inspection is synonymous with chimney inspection. The intention is to determine the worthiness of the fireplace to safely contain combustion. There are many types of fireplaces and inserts that can sit inside of each fireplace type. The combinations have limitations and codes that must be strictly adhered to.
A fireplace inspection will always include the chimney. It is essential that the chimney be in sound condition to safely vent the fireplace combustion byproducts such as smoke, heat, and toxic fumes.
There are codes dedicated solely to fireplace design, construction, and maintenance. These codes are our road map. Every aspect of the fireplace will be thoroughly investigated.

Chimney Inspection
A chimney inspection is performed to determine the condition of the chimney structure and the appliance it is venting. The appliance being vented is where the fire or combustion takes place. These include things like a fireplace, wood stove, gas logs, furnace, or boiler. Any combustion that takes place inside the dwelling must be properly vented.
The chimney, put plainly, is the vent. Deterioration will show on the exterior of the chimney first due to weathering and environmental factors before the internal components begin to degrade. However, the deterioration will spread to the interior of the chimney rapidly and aggressively if left unresolved.
Inspection cameras allow access to internal areas of the chimney that cannot be seen without this technology. Flashlights, mirrors, and cell phones can only capture what is immediately within reach. Inspection cameras make it possible to closely inspect the most critical areas of the chimney lining with incredible accuracy.

Chimney Sweep
Preparing for the inspection may require a chimney sweep. If there is creosote in the system the lining cannot be inspected properly. The creosote blankets the lining entirely and has no transparency. This can be determined onsite and is an additional service that is readily available if needed.
Rotary powered chimney sweep system. This chimney sweep system is a brush systems that uses a drill to power the chimney cleaning process. This allows for an incredibly aggressive cleaning while maintaining a very tight work area safely in front the fireplace. By using a drill to power the scrubbing action instead of manually sweeping. We can clean longer, better, and more intensely throughout the process. All from the safety of the ground.
The chimney sweep must still check the cap and the exterior above the roof as part of the chimney inspection. However, this system eliminates a majority of the danger associated with chimney cleaning from the roof top.
