Chimney Sweep
A chimney sweep is performed to remove the dangerous creosote buildup in the chimney and fireplace. Creosote build up is dangerous because it is flammable. A chimney sweep will remove all the creosote build up that creates a fire hazard, and should be performed regularly to safely operate the fireplace.
The equipment and technology we use are our pride and joy. Manual sweeping equipment is obsolete, and can only brush up/down. Our drill powered rotary system uses scrubbing action with powerful left/right rotation combined with up/down strokes. This has 10X the cleaning power of manual brush strokes alone, and scrubs deep into crevices usually missed by manual sweeping. Watch our short video above to see it in action!
Additionally, the chimney sweep allows any defects in the fireplace and chimney system to be exposed for evaluation. A chimney inspection camera is used to inspect the interior of the chimney that would be inaccessible otherwise. If these areas are not cleaned thoroughly first the camera can only see the creosote build up. The chimney sweep sets the stage for the chimney inspection.

Fireplace Cleaning
Rotary powered chimney sweep system. This chimney sweep system uses a drill to power the chimney cleaning process. This allows for an incredibly aggressive cleaning while maintaining a very tight work area safely in front the fireplace. By using a drill to power the scrubbing action instead of manually sweeping. We can clean longer, better, and more intensely throughout the process. All from the safety of the ground. Check out our short video above to see it in action!
If glass doors are present we use fire rated cleaning agents on the glass doors and metal frame. The interior finishes get wiped down and cleaned by hand. Fireplace cleaning includes removal and reinstallation of the damper in a masonry fireplace. We will check the damper for proper operation before removal and after reinstallation.
We check the cap and the exterior above the roof as part of the chimney inspection. However, this system eliminates a majority of the danger associated with chimney cleaning from the roof top.

Chimney Inspection Camera
A chimney inspection camera allows us to send an HD camera up a masonry chimney with full 360/tilt control to inspect areas inside of the chimney that would not be accessible otherwise. These areas are critical and often the most neglected due to access. A chimney inspection camera will find defects that have been overlooked for years by documented "visual" and "level 1" inspections. A traditional chimney inspection with a flashlight and mirror is obsolete for a masonry fireplace or masonry chimney of any kind.
Prefab fireplaces require a smaller more compact camera system due to the fireplace and vent design. The intention is to check the flue pipe for obstructions, buckling, or disconnections.
Images captured with date/time stamp, camera depth, and company watermark for validity. They are saved for digital delivery and are available immediately onsite.
Areas that are readily accessible get HD pictures with smartphones for routine documentation. To be included with the inspection report and inspection pictures.

Wood Stove Insert Cleaning
A wood stove insert is a heating appliance that sits inside of the fireplace and uses the chimney to vent. They are solid steel or cast iron and can weigh as much as 800 pounds! A wood stove insert is inserted into a masonry fireplace and trimmed with black metal plates. Due to this installation type the wood stove must be removed for service!
A wood stove insert must be removed from the fireplace to gain access to the fireplace and chimney. They are large and incredibly heavy. Removal and reinstallation is dangerous due to the weight and shape of a wood stove insert. One mishap could cost hundreds or thousands in damages. WE COME PREPARED with industry specific equipment, engineered for wood stove Insert removal.
A wood stove insert puller is a heavy duty steel rig that is specifically engineered to carry the massive load of a wood stove insert. This equipment has virtually eliminated the risk of accidental damage from handling a wood stove insert, and reduces the risk of injury to workers.

Gas Fireplace Cleaning
Gas log sets consist of a burner pan and a log set that is stacked on top of the burner to resemble a real wood fire. These are installed into wood burning fireplaces converted to gas.
In addition to the chimney sweep and inspection. The logs get removed and cleaned one a time. Then the burner gets cleaned by vacuum, wire brush, and dusters. Carbon build up on the sensors must be removed with light abrasion. The logs and decorative media around the burner get reinstalled exactly to manufacturers specs. A test fire completes the cleaning process.
Gas fireplace is a self contained unit that doesn't require a wood burning fireplace to be converted. Most common in newer construction and additions. There are several types of gas fireplaces that have different installation applications. These gas fireplace types don't have a traditional chimney. However, they have complicated systems internally that require regular servicing to maintain trouble free operation. The focus for maintenance is on the internal components, sensors, and the circuit that relays the data to valves and switches.
